Bite Lithuania revealed plans to launch its 5G network by the end of the year, after being awarded spectrum in the 3.5GHz and 700MHz bands by the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT) last month, according to a report by telecompaper.com on September 2.
Bite has acquired a 100MHz spectrum block in the 3400MHz-3500MHz range and a 2×5MHz spectrum block in the 700MHz band for €3 million. Gintas Butenas, Deneral Director of Bite Lithuania, said: “Bite’s network development strategy is to build a brand new 5G network in higher frequency bands. The newly acquired 700MHz frequency range will complement the 3.5GHz frequency Bite acquired a few weeks ago. Such a frequency combination will guarantee fast , stable and widely available 5G connectivity, during the construction of the project, Bite invested not only in creating a brand new 5G network, but also in the need for new frequencies, but also in modernizing the network already in use. For customers, this will Means higher internet speeds, better connection stability and coverage."
